The Unforgiven by JMcQ (Very Old Poetry)
A young boy
Full of dreams and moxy
Has them beaten down by the conformists
The lad, very scared, runs away
But whenever they boy runs
conformity strikes back
Forced to act like everyone else
his Individuality dies
Until One day
he sees bring light shining in the forest
as curosity overwhelms the programming by the conformists
The enlightened boy sheds his clothing
and feeds them to the flame
He calls everyone to meet in the town square
scores of people converge
The boy, clad only in a grin
proclaims "I am my own self"
The people pitch rocks at the boy
and beat him
and spit in his face
he dies, his body unidentificable
his tombstone reads
"The Unforgiven"
