Poet's Corner ?Alive?

The breathtaking panorama is viewed
from the snow-covered peak; and,
breathing ancient, rarefied air.
Of such audacity to be the first
human up this heaven-reaching peak.
With conditions as such to be deemed,
Inhumane.

Exhilaration,
drives humanity to new levels,
in search of happiness.
No matter how dangerous
the event may seem.

The upper echelons of the atmosphere,
are traversed by humanity in its
eternal journey for happiness.
For a few fleeting moments
the holy grail of happiness - bliss,
is found in its intimidating glory.
While the earth rushes, rushes, rushes,
to meet the wingless bird,
which is only snatched from certain death
by a piece of cloth.

In the blue depths of the sea,
humanity ventures, with apparatuses
that allow them to go places
lost by the eternal cycle of years.
And the endless ebb of estuaries,
flowing into one.

For eons humanity has looked upward,
to the stars - for science, direction, and wonder
culminates in A.U.C. 2722
When men forever marred
the pock-filled sphere
of Selene?s luminous body.

The collection of random noises
coming from a group of people
mingle and combine
in all forms to be enjoyed.
A foil to the supreme loneliness exhibited,
by the unengaged mind.
Which as the cliche goes
is a very dangerous thing.

But live while you can,
for no one knows when
Atropos, with her cold iron shears,
will cut the slender thread
on which precious life
depends.
