Cannonball, Tyler Guthrie, Luke Guthrie, and a Celestial Golem

Plot -
Cannonball, after learning his father and uncle might be murderers, breaks his uncle out
of jail, using his blasting powers. At first, Luke doesn't recognize his nephew, but soon,
he does and he learns his nephew has became a super-hero. Taking his uncle to a bar in
Texas, Cannonball asks his uncle to tell him about the memories he gave Delphi. Luke tells
the story of a robbery gone bust, with his partner getting shot and killed. But the scary
happened when the guy died: he transformed back into his true, form, that of a Deviant. Of
course, Luke knew nothing of Deviants, or the Celestial golem that he just stole. Back in
San Fransico, Meltdown and Jesse Bedlam practice their skills, while some hidden men
watches over them, ones with interests in Meltdown. Back in Texas, Luke says that he asked
Sam's father, Tyler Guthrie, Luke's older brother, to help him out. However, Sam, as a
child watching from the window, decides he wants to help his father. The three (with Sam
tagging along with his father not knowing), take the Golem to where the contact was
supposed to be. Luke gets paid and they are ready to leave, but Sam gets caught by the
guards and blurts out that he saw that they were experimenting with children. Back in San
Franisco, Moonstar and Jennifer Kale do some Tai Chi, while talking over the changes in
Moonstar's powers and life. However, Moonstar gets a strange vision of the Demon Bear, a
being that nearly killed her and her parents when she was still a New Mutant. In Brazil,
Selene shows Sunspot just who the real enemy is, when she exposes the fact that the
Reignfire identity is now in the possession of the evil Damocles Foundation. Back in
Texas, Luke tells the rest of the story. Because of Sam, the Guthries are attacked by the
guards, who are Deviants in disguise. They manage to jumpstart the golem's energy, but
Luke throws himself into the mix, causing an explosion. The Deviants are revealed, and the
Guthries try to escape, but Tyler won't leave without the children. Luke takes Sam, while
Tyler frees the children. Outside, they meet up with a mystery man called Sledge, who goes
toe-to-toe with the Golem, managing to stop its insane rampage. But the Deviants were
killed, and Tyler decides to bury the killers. Sledge uses a small orb to erase the
memories of the children, including Sam, which explains why Cannonball remembers none of
this. And with Domino's help, Cannonball manages to put the past to rest and get his uncle
back in jail undected. However, in the Amazon, the evil Indigo, Doctor Joshua, and Doctor
Chandra arrive with the being called Reignfire! |
