Plot -
Wounded in a battle by the psychotic Feral, Siryn has lost both her voice and her powers.
Standing on the Golden Gate Bridge, Siryn thinks leaping over the side, but she knows that
is not the way to deal with pain. Back at the warehouse, the team, minus Cannonball, are
readying for dinner, when Banshee, Siryn's father, appears. He tells them he wants to
help. Back in the city, Siryn enters a small coffeeshop and reminishes over her life. She
thinks about beginning her life with X-Force, her relationship with Warpath, and her
becoming X-Force's field leader. But when someone begins to sing, Siryn can not bear to
stay. Meltdown and Sunspot go out, but when Sunspot tells her that they should leave Siryn
be, Meltdown decides that maybe its time that their relationship came to an end. Meltdown
leaves, unable to stay, and Sunspot is approached by two men calling themselves officers
of immigration service. Sunspot decides to go with them willingly. On the roof, Moonstar,
Warpath, and Banshee reflect. Banshee tells them about how he once lost his powers and how
he did not learn until years later the Siryn was his daughter. Back in the city, Siryn
goes into a liquor store and buys a drink. She walks back outside, remembering the days
that Black Tom, the man that had raised her, would give her alcohol after every heist.
Domino, not far away, is confronted by a detective looking for answers on Domino's
involvment in a string of crimes. Domino tells him to back off, but before she can finish
her sentence, she is mysteriously shallowed up in a puddle of light. Moments pass, and
Siryn has yet to open the bottle. She decides to go to a nearby meeting for alcoholics.
Back at the warehouse, Banshee says good-bye, telling them that if they see Siryn, have
her call him. That night, Siryn finally returns, but everyone but Warpath is asleep. She
walks into his room and heads him a letter. It tells him that she's alright and that she
is going to spend some time with her aunt. They say good-bye, and Siryn leaves X-Force. |
