| Rage (Elvin Haliday) - Avengers, New Warriors - super-strength - Looking older than his real age, Rage was allowed to join the Avengers. When they found out his real age, Rage left the team and joined the younger New Warriors. He was a long-time Warrior, but he currently is enrolled in a private high school. | |
| Jenny Ransome - Genoshan cabinet - a mutate - Once controlled by the mutate process, Jenny was freed and fell in love with Philip Moreau. The two have since became active in Genoshan government, with Jenny being the former president. Jenny's current whereabouts, after the destruction of Genosha, are unknown. | |
| Mikhail Rasputin - Gene Nation - can manipulate energy - Colossus and Magik's older brother, Mikhail spent most of his life at the mercy of his powers. He teleported the surviving Morlocks to an alternate dimension where they became Gene Nation, but was saved by his brother. Mikhail recently died during battle with Apocalypse. | |
| Dr. Cecilia Reyes - X-Men - generates a force-field - Cecilia's only dream was to be a doctor, but that dream was stripped from her when she was attacked by Prime Sentinels. She was saved by Iceman and joined the X-Men. But her heart was never in it. She left to start a small clinic of her own. | |
| Rictor (Julio Richter) - X-Force, New Mutants, X-Terminators - can generate vibrations - Trained by the original X-Factor, Rictor went on to join the New Mutants. He left after Cable took over the team and blamed Cable for killing his father. When Rictor learned it was Stryfe who killed his father, he joined X-Force. His current whereabouts are unknown. | |
| Rogue - X-Men, Brotherhood - can absorb other's powers and memories, super-strong, can fly - Mystique's foster daughter, Rogue joined the X-Men to learn to control her powers. She also learned about heroism and is a now long time member. She was last seen with the team. | |
| Sabretooth (Victor Creed) - X-Men, X-Factor, Maruaders - super-strength, claws - Sabretooth is Wolverine's psychotic counterpart. A rampant murderer, Sabretooth has tried many times to kill Wolverine and other X-Men. He has been rehabilitated several times, with no sucess. He is currently on the loose. | |
| Sandman (William Baker) - Silver Sable Inc, Avengers - can transform into sand - A former enemy of Spider-Man's, Sandman later joined Silver Sable's mercenary group. Sandman joined the Avengers, trying to repent for his past sins, but eventually returned to Silver Sable. | |
| Scanner - Acolyte - can transform into a being of energy - A former follower of Magneto's teachings, Scanner, while one of least fanatic Acolytes, clashed with the X-Men several times. She was most recently seen in Genosha, before its destruction. | |
| Scarlet Witch (Wanda Maximoff) - Avengers, Force Works, Brotherhood - can change probability - The daughter of Magneto, Wanda has been a nearly constant Avenger. She was married to the Vision, but are now divorced. The Witch remains with the Avengers, serving as deputy leader. | |
| Selene - Externals, Hellfire Club - a sorceress who absorbs lifeforce, immortal - Selene, as the Black Queen, has had several confrontations with the X-teams. She is an External, an immortal mutant. She recently took over the Club and murdered the majority of her fellow Externals. Her current location is unknown. | |
| Sersi - Avengers, Eternals - can transmute matter, immortal - A member of the humaniod Eternals, Sersi journeyed to Earth to party and have fun. Bored with her long-life, she joined the Avengers for a sense of adventure. Sersi was last seen aiding the team in battle. | |
| Shadowcat (Kitty Pryde) - X-Men, Excalibur - can become intangible - Once, she was the youngest X-Man, and went on to help found Excalibur. She later returned to the X-Men, but after she was nearly killed in battle, Shadowcat retired from active duty and is currently attending college. | |
| Shang-Chi - Marvel Knights - a master of martial arts - Shang-Chi is the world's formost martial artist and often aided the adventures of other super-heroes. He was most recently a part of the Marvel Knights, and planned to defend his honor against the villainy of his father. | |
| Sebastion Shaw - Hellfire Club - can absorb energy and redirect it into physical strength - The Black King of the Hellfire Club, Shaw has often attacked and manipulated the X-Men. For a time, he was thought dead, murdered by his son. He recently returned, waging war on the X-Men again. | |
| Shatterstar - X-Force - a expert fighter from Mojoworld - Shatterstar is a warrior from the future of Mojoworld, the same world from where Longshot hailed. His true origins, however, may be more complex. He left X-Force with his best friend Rictor to find out who he truly is. | |
| She-Hulk (Jennifer Walters) - Avengers, Fantastic Four, Heroes for Hire - super-strength - Jennifer became the She-Hulk after a blood transfusion from her cousin Bruce Banner, the Hulk. She gained his strength, but managed to keep her intellect. She is a long time Avenger and a lawyer. | |
| Silhouette - New Warriors - can teleport through shadows - Although paralyzed, Silhouette still fights evil with the aid of her braces and her shadow-slipping powers. A longtime Warrior, Silhouette left the group after going through changes in both powers and personality. She has not returned. | |
| Silk Fever - Folding Circle, Forces of Nature - can generate flame and heat - At once a mercenary for an eco-group, and later a woman searching for her identity, Silk Fever never once figured out who she really was. She has not been seen for some time now. | |

After finding her father, she became Siryn and stayed at Muir Island. She wound eventually join X-Force and went on to lead the team. She recently was injured and left the team. | |
| Skin (Angelo Espinosa) - Generation X - can manipulate his several feet worth of extra skin - After being kidnapped by the Phalanx, he joined Gen X in hopes of learning how to live a normal life. After Gen X disbanded, he began his journey back to LA with Jubilee at his side. | |
