As each of the Brief Histories for the nine batteries was developed, the histories resulted in a simple listing of engagements and when they occurred. Certain questions arose as to what these terse statements meant, i e "Grand Review" or "Seven Days Before Richmond". As these and the other terms were researched it was determined that it would be benefical to list these descriptions. The Glossary is a listing of these descriptions and is continually being added to as I learn more about the subject. The descriptions were obtained from the reference works of others and cited where available.
The Glossary is divided into four broad categories; General, Artillery, Campaigns & Engagements and People:
