Yasser Arafat, January 30, 1996, (Speech) "The Impending Total Collapse of Israel," Stockholm, Sweden (1,2)
"For Yasir Arafat, 1996 started with a clear vision of where the Palestinian movement was heading. On January 30, he outlined his plan in a closed door speech to forty Arab diplomats int he Spiegal Salon at the Grand Hotel in Stockholm. His remarks were titled "The Impending Collapse of Israel." [Bodansky]
"We will take over everything, including all of Jerusalem," he stated repeatedly.
Arafat also stated that "Peres and Beilin have already promised us half of Jerusalem. The Golan Heights have already been given away, subject to just a few details."
"We of the PLO will now concentrate all our efforts on splitting Israel psychologically into two camps," Arafat reportedly declared. "Within five years, we will have six to seven million Arabs living on the West Bank and in Jerusalem. All Palestinian Arabs will be welcomed by us. If the Jews can import all kinds of Ethiopians, Russians, Uzbeks and Ukranians as Jews, we can import all kinds of Arabs to us." He added that the PLO plans "to eliminate the State of Israel and establish a purely Palestinian State. We will make life unbearable for Jews by psychological warfare and population explosion; Jews won't want to live among us Arabs." [From an article, entitled: "Arafat's Secret Agenda Is to Wear Israelis Out" appeared in the April 1, 1996 issue of Insight magazine in Washington D.C., by Yedidya Atlas].
Arafat's meeting and speech took place after an official state dinner in his honor which was given by Sweden's Foreign Minister. The "Jihad" speech by Arafat (see articles and links at: http://pnews.org) in a Johannesburg mosque several years prior was recorded but this speech was not recorded so there is plausible denial and Arafat told Ma'ariv that the story was "not true and not accurate." - except there was a transcript and it's authenticity have been verified.
This is what Bodansky writes in "The High Price of Peace":
"Arafat's plan, which aimed at nothing less than causing the Jews to abandon Israel, had two main components: terrorism and a dramatic increase in the Palestinian population."
"Within five years we will have six to seven million Arabs living on the West Bank and in Jerusalem. All Palestinian Arabs will be welcomed back by us... You understand that we plan to eliminate the state of Israel and establish a purely Palestinian State. We will make life unbearable for Jews by psychological warfare and population explosion; Jews will not want to live among us Arabs!" [Arafat at Stockholm].
As Yosef Bodansky further writes that the statement from Stockholm bears a similarity to uncompromising tenets of the Muslim Brotherhood.
Arafat said: "
