Tutorials 1, 2, and 4 are structured to run on Indy-class machines without any special motion capture gear. Tutorial 3, however, requires special equipment because it introduces real time sampling with a magnetic device.
MotionSampler looks at either your .AliasPrefs settings or at the values of the environment variables ALIAS_PROJECT and ALIAS_WORKENV to determine where your files are stored.
The sample data for these tutorials is found on the Alias 3DCD in the miscellaneous directory. Copy this data into a local user_data project directory before starting these tutorials by typing the following from a UNIX shell:
cd cp - r /usr/alias/3DCD/miscellaneous/clip user_data np clip
This copies the tutorial files into a project area called clip and sets your current project to point to this area.
The following is a list of the tutorials.
Tutorial 1 introduces the general concepts of MotionSampler.
Tutorial 2 shows you how to use the calibration process with pre-captured data and also how to use the Biped2 filter.
Tutorial 3 shows you how to sample motion in real time using a BIPED filter.
Tutorial 4 shows you how to add special effects to animations.
