What is Promotions

True kindness is expressed not in hope of recognition, but in hope of helping another! (author unknown)

Below you will find links to ideas of things that can be done to help promote Joe McIntyre. Please take the time to explore all ideas and email me if you have any additional ideas.

RADIO PLAY

Help add Joe to play lists for popular radio stations. There is more than just Top 40 radio links, we also have Adult Contemporary as Joe's first album would fit in great on those stations as well.

TELEVISION SHOW APPEARANCES

Help get Joe on some wonderful television shows as a guest. Look beyond the usual Politically Incorrect or Rosie O'Donnell, why not Saturday Night Live?

MAGAZINE COVERAGE

Help get Joe featured or interviewed by magazines. Sure he has been in all those teen magazines and we can keep trying for those, but why not more of him in People or Rolling Stone?

NEWSPAPER COVERAGE

Is Joe doing something more local that needs to be covered by a Newspaper? Even if it is not local for you, but you know he is going to be there, contact the local paper and encourage them to cover the event.

ONLINE POLLS

Is there an online poll that needs a vote for Joe? Go here, find out, and VOTE!

MISC.

Is there something more you would like to see Joe do or be, but you just don't know where it fits in above? Well, it just might be on this page....Give it a try!

*If there is anything more that you would like to add to my list above, please email me at: [email protected]

How to Approach the Media

Hi guys. This is Khristel (Ex-Public Representative) and I would like to offer up some ideas on how to approach Radio Stations, TV shows and Magazines, when you are writing them, calling them or emailing them.

Radio:

  • Be Professional
  • Do not just call a radio station and say.......Can you play Joe McIntyre? Say something like."Hi I was wondering if you had the new song by Joe McIntyre?" if they say yes then say " I would really like to hear it, would you please play it for me?"
  • No matter what they say do not get upset with them.
  • If they say "we have it but it is not on our playlist." Say something to the effect of "Really? Well maybe you should play a track and see what happen."
  • Always be kind and courteous when speaking with a DJ.
  • Always say "Thank you" no matter what.

Television Stations:

  • Be professional.
  • Showcase his talents! I know as much as you would like to please remember that we are trying to get across Joes talents and not how much we love him. I know it will be hard. Many of times I have caught myself telling people how much I loved him and how much he meant to me.
  • When calling them please be kind and courteous.
  • Say thank you and always remember to treat whoever you are speaking with the utmost respect.
  • Make sure that you use a polite tone of voice.
  • End the conversation with something like "Thank you for your time and I really hope you take into consideration what I have said."

Magazines:

  • Be professional.
  • Showcase his talents! I know as much as you would like to please remember that we are trying to get across Joes talents and not how much we love him. I know it will be hard. Many of times I have caught myself telling people how much I loved him and how much he meant to me.
  • When calling them please be kind and courteous.
  • Say thank you and always remember to treat whoever you are speaking with the utmost respect.
  • Make sure that you use a polite tone of voice.
  • End the conversation with something like "Thank you for your time and I really hope you take into consideration what I have said."

I have faith in all of you!!! Lets ban together and get this man out there!
