What Happened?
Wull, we got married, that's what happened. The deed took place on Sunday, June 3, 2001, at 1pm. Woodend Mansion, a very cool old building owned by the Audubon Society in Chevy Chase, MD, not too far from the District, was the scene of the crime. Rabbi Tamara Miller, who I have known most of my life and who is the driving force behind the new Capitol Kehillah congregation, was our agent and advisor (not to mention officiant). The Loudoun County Master Singers, the choir Erin founded and conducts, came and provided a soundtrack. We've decided to change our names to E. and R. Reid Myers (no hyphens, no middle names) to mark our commitment to one another. Witnesses included the best damn wedding party ever (they put the "party" in "wedding party"): Psyche Coderre, Abi Davis, Sheeri Kritzer, Marlena Negri.

Oh, I guess you want to know more, eh? Follow the links and eat your hearts out.

Shower: If you weren't there, you missed out! See the evidence here.

The ceremony: Find text of the program here.

My impressions of the full day: Text here.

Photos from the wedding day: I gotcher pictures right here. Black and white or color, take your pick.

What did we do afterwards: We went on a honeymoon, silly! Honeymoon journal text here. Images here.
.

NOTE: We're very committed to one another. We're also committed to building a relationship that works for us, not to building one that's based on models like patriarchy, sexism, biphobia, and polyphobia. Please don't make grand assumptions about our relationship based on the "wedding" word. For more information on working outside the constraints of traditional marriage, reference the excellent Alternatives to Marriage Project website
