A MAD magazine spoof of American Graffiti, titled "American - Confetti," (MAD mag. No.166, April 1974), was written by Larry Seigel and drawn by Mort Drucker.  Drucker also illustrated the one-sheet movie poster for the film's theartical release.
Seven years before doing the choreography for the hop scenes in Graffiti,Toni Basil appeared with Graffiti star, Ron Howard in the wacky, sci-fi, teen flick, Village of the Giants, which she also choreographed.  Her pre-Graffiti career also includes film roles in movies such as Easy Rider and Five Easy Pieces.
After Graffiti, the versatile performer continued to choregraph films, direct music videos, and in 1982, had a #1 hit song with the bouncy, upbeat, Mickey.  Basil is still active today, taking on occasional acting roles and choreographing for film, television, and commercials.
David Willardson did the famous (un-credited) air-brush artwork for the cover of the American Graffiti soundtrack.  A few years later, he worked for Lucas & crew again by producing the famous Radars of the Lost Ark movie logo.  In the late '70s Willardson began working for Disney and since has created poster art for Cinderella, Snow White, The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, and The Lion King, earning him a permanent place in animation art history.

"Genius" (Ron Howard) accidentally invents "goo" which causes living things to rapidly grow to an enormous size.
Everyone whose reading this knows that the '32 coupe's license plate in Graffiti is an homage to Lucas' first feature film.  But, did you know that in the movie Swingers (1996) Jon Favreau's character has the same license plate, THX 138 on his car as an homage to American Graffiti?
