| Vote Joe Mooney North Inner City Ward - Dublin City Council ![]() My name is Joe Mooney. I am 35 years old. I live with my partner Mary and two children Alice (6) and Jesse (11). We live in East Wall, having previously lived elsewhere in the North Inner City. By trade I am a landscape gardener. I am also a part time teacher, working with pupils in a school garden club. I have previously worked as a youth leader, and have completed a community development course at Maynooth College. I am a member of the East Wall Residents Association and have been chairperson for the last number of years. I am also a member of the East Wall Community Council, an umbrella body of up to 20 groups. I am the parents representative on the board of management of St. Josephs co-ed school for the past 6 years. Involved in coordinating the East Wall Community Festival between 1998 and 1999. Prominent campaigner on drugs issues - supporting treatment and prevention initiatives. I also addressed the activity of drug dealers and other anti social elements. A member of the executive committee of C.O.C.A.D. (Coalition Of Communities Against Drugs). I am secretary of the Dublin City Campaign Against the Bin Tax. Helped set up local groups across the city, including Stoneybatter, North Inner City, Ballybough / Clonliffe, North Strand and North Wall. Part of the community alliance which successfully opposed high rise development at Spencer Dock. I have assisted and advised other communities involved with similar high rise controversies. Participated in meetings with Dublin City Council addressing issues such as litter, recycling, and flood prevention measures. | ||||||||||
