Disclaimer

This article is sarcasm. Although this article seems describe almost exactly how some people refuse legitimate accommodation, it is actually designed to show what not to do - barriers should be removed, not fought for. It is also part of a larger article, How to Keep Your Barriers.

Tactic Description

Your reason for keeping your cherished barrier can be nearly anything you want. Certainly, the tactics mentioned on this site are good choices. But feel free to invent your own reason. It doesn't need to make sense, and in fact it helps if it doesn't make sense. I've seen people successfully reject requests because of company policy, because they don't like criminals, because of the nationality of the requester, and countless other irrelevant reasons. So it's perfectly acceptable to make up your own reason!
