2006 National Junior Age group Champs

HUNT ON FOR NATIONAL AGE GROUP CHESS TITLES

The Jamaica Chess Federation, in association with the Liguanea Chess Club and RBTT Bank Jamaica Ltd., will be staging the 2006 National Age Group Chess Championships for under 14, 12, 10 and 8, this Saturday and Sunday at the RBTT Bank Headquarters in New Kingston.

The championships will be played over 6 rounds under the Swiss pairing format, and is open to players that were below the age of 14 on January 1, 2006.
The main prize is a ticket to Miami to attend
the Junior Orange Bowl Tournament which will go to the competitor who finishes with the highest overall percentage score. This prize is being donated by the Liguanea Chess Club.
The defending champion in the under 14 and 12 categories is Stuart James, while Tewana Mellace is the defending champion in the under 10 age group.
