Resizing

Resizing (or Scaling)

Resizing a photo means increasing or decreasing the size of the photo in pixel size.
Resizing is mostly used to make photos smaller.

Decreasing Size
Decreasing the number of pixels of a photo also produces a decrease in size of the photo in kilobytes.
Decreasing the size is used to make it easier to send photos by email by decreasing their size in kilobytes or to make thumbnails by decreasing the number of pixels.

Original Photo is 250 x 300 Pixels (11 KB size)

Decreased Photo is 50 x 60 Pixels (2 KB size)

Increasing Size
Making a photo larger will make the pixels more apparent.

Original Photo is 50 x 60 Pixels (2 KB size)

Increased Photo is 250 x 300 Pixels (9 KB size)
