Visiting the Landmark
The castle is in the hands of Portsmouth Council and is open to the public. As well as access to the walls, buildings and tunnels a museum can be found in the keep . As a tourist attraction it houses a cafe and "tunnels through time" type display. Designed for those that need history spoon ladled to them through talking dummies! A small fee is charged for entrance to the castle it is well worth the visit.
If the Castle is closed then the exterior is all accessible by public paths and promenade, this includes the modern gun batteries.
