Ok, so what to look for, and how you get spotted

Now, your ready for battle, you want to get out onto the hills and shoot some people in the head. But what should you look for, and how do you get spotted?

Alright then, were to begin.

First things first, well start by how you get spotted. The main causes of getting spotted, are:

Tracers

Body or Head

Muzzel Flash.

On the screenshot above you can see the tracer, the head and the muzzel flash. The tracer is the little blue streak seen coming out of the rifle. This can be useful to you to spot other snipers, and also as a target indicator, so you can see were your shots are landing. Puffs of dirt or dust can also help spot things, as will blood coming from players bodys.

Also be aware though that by firing YOU give away your tracer, and if theres a few people reading this, then you might not live much past your first shot.

One thing that gives snipers away is the way they choose to go up hills. If you run straight up the front, an observant sniper might see you run up, and as soon as you lie down, the sniper only has to take aim...

Another thing you have to be aware of is muzzel flash. If you look on the screenshot, you can see the white flash round the end of the muzzel. One your screen it might only look like a little white dot appearing for a second, and its sometimes just the light on the game playing tricks with you, or an annoying pixel. But sometimes its a sniper firing. If unsure, always look. Infact, always look...

Last thing. Positioning. I went into WERE to sit, but not HOW to sit.

In this screenshot, you can just make out my head and body. Now most snipers wont realise this, but to get a clear line of sight over the enemy, you might need to stick your head out a little further than you would like. In this shot, when in first person mode, i had a perfect view on the enemy re-spawn, which was about 400m. Beside that point though...

You can just make out my gun and head...and i mean JUST. Thats the key thing. You might be hidden, but can you see without grass getting in your way? If there is no grass in the way, quickly press f5 to see if your head or rifle are showing. If they are, a little bit of movement is needed. Dont forget to press f2 and check you can still see the area you want to snipe at!
