'So what the hell is sniping?' I hear you cry!
It depends on what you class sniping is. As i said on the front page, i personally think that sniping is the ability to kill the enemy target/target's without getting killed yourself. When you play a game, its inevitable you will get shot at some point. There is always going to be somebody getter than you. What you can do is to learn how to improve your sniping so you dont die as MUCH. My personal best record was 51 kills to 0 deaths. My worst record was about 3 deaths 1 kill. With a record like 3 deaths to 1 kill, you wont get very far. I pride myself on managing to sneak past enemy snipers, maybe knifing them on the way, getting into a excelling position and then managing to pick off the snipers that pose a threat to my team mates. Sniping involves correct positioning, firing, movement, camouflage etc...
On a web site i red about real life snipers (NOT in a game) it described that a sniper was ' An individual with a cracking shot, who can pick of special weapons people, assault weapon carriers, section leaders, radio operators or enemy snipers'. How can i sum it up better? Thats basically all there is. Might not seem like a lot, but it is...
It carrys on to say 'Snipers can work solo but not as a loner, as team mates can be helpful to assisting the sniper. They have to go long peroids of isolation without contact to others, or they can work in pairs or three's, supporting each other and offering cover and assistance if the need arises.'
So there you go. Sniping in pairs or even three's can be good, but the only problem with this is getting spotted...ill talk about this a little more in the 'Can you give me more tips' section of this web page.
So make your own mind up. Do you want to kill everybody you see, or go for enemy snipers, flag runners, specific enemy players who are occupying buildings...the list is endless. You decide, thats the one thing i CANT help you with =)
