SMERI > External Bureau and Its Departments

The External Bureau handles the Institute's external affairs, communications with concerned individuals and groups inside and outside the country, and its outreach programs. It has two departments:

(1) Public Relations Department

(2) Outreach Programs Department

 

Website
Aimed at introducing the Institute, and its activities and accomplishments at the cyberspace, we are maintaining this site at a free portal.
Newsletter
The Institute has been publishing its monthly organ named Shajaratun Muntazirah Newsletter.
eDigest
Since August 3, 2005, SMERI is distributing through email its "SMERI eDigest" to individuals in the country who are included in the SMERI Mailing List. The SMERI eDigest contains links to recommended sites, electronic articles and media items, and updates to the SMERI site.
Communications/letters
SMERI establishes communications and maintains contacts with international, national and local organizations and figures on various affairs relevant to its mission and objectives.
 
Distribution of books
Depending on the availability of extra books in the library and the degree of needs of local individuals and groups for books on Islamic subjects, the Institute gives free copies of books upon request. How to request?
Distribution of fact sheets and leaflets 
The Institute regularly distributes fact sheets and leaflets to its visitors on regular days and special occasions.
Online courses
The External Bureau of the Institute in cooperation with its Education Bureau is also offering free online courses on Islam--Level 1 for elementary and high school students, and Level 2 for college students who are residing at other cities and towns in the country.
Web designing and maintenance
Outreach Programs Department is also voluntarily assisting some groups in designing and maintaining their respective websites.
