Chapter 7~ The Princess

"EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE" A pig squealed in Van's wonderful dream, he woke up with a start, sweating all over. "What the HELL was that? Oh, it was just a dream no biggy..." Van said to himself as he sat up straight on his throne, for he was slumping on it comfortably a second ago in a wonderful dream. "Ah..yuck, goodness, I really need a bath!" Van looked at himself in disgust, he was ready to call to Brek when the grandpa scared him by saying, "My Lord, may I present you Princess Sarala the Crown Prince of Noovi." Van was shocked to pieces! What the hell? Noovi? Weren't they suppose to come  in three or two more days? These questions flashed quickly in Van's mind as he stared unbelivebly at the gourgeous Fanalian wooden doors where the 10 year old princess stood.

The little princess squealed when she saw the sleeping king. 'I don't believe it! I've finally met him! Oh! He is soooooo handsome! He is all that I've heard of! Handsome, dashing, and he also have a sword like all Kings! He's a true knight and WILL be my white-horse-prince!' These thoughts dashed through Sarala's mind as she stood speechless starring at the handsome and dashing King of Fanalia.

Even though Van was really dirty, the princess didn't seem to notice.The King of Noovi suddenly appeared all fresh and washedup, it seemed like he noticed though. He looked at Van who stared speechlessly back. 'This is all too of a sudden! How did they get through the front gate without someone noticing? Why didn't anyone wake me and tell me?' Van was really angry, by looking at himself, he felt really embarrased already! He was so ashamed to appear in such shape in front of the King of Noovi. "King of Fanalia! We are glad to finally be here to see you....but may I ask you why are you in such.....such 'form'?" The King of Noovi nodded disapprovingly and Van could see that the Noovi King was quite upset, he could also see him swelling up, he was getting red in the face and puffy in a sort of way...Van was quite sure this did not ment well.

"Oh! Daddy! He is holding my marrige proposal letter! I bet he must really like me to do so!" Princess Sarala squealed in delight. Her father looked at Van who was still clutching the letter, his red face and swelling up business stopped immediantly and he chuckled and smiled. 'Lets just see if my plan goes all right, I am very sure that no matter what I do, Auturia will certainly interfer. I will just be patient and wait for my move, at the meantime lets see what kind of King this boy is.' The Noovi King thought to himself, he was going to act according to how happy the princess was and how smart the boy is.

Van looked at his hands that were still clutching the letter, 'Well I guess this letter actually saved my life, oh! Hitomi, what should I do now? Everything is so messed up!' Van was getting worried. All this time Van did not say a word except star speechlessly at the Noovi Royal family, now he spoke, "King of Noovi and Princess Sarala, I am glad to have you here. I am sorry that you must see me in this state. I apologize for not being at the gate to receive you for my guards and servants (as Van spoke to this place he showed a little anger) did not tell me that the Noovi Royal family was coming. Please forgive me for I was working just then and...." Van felt his face go hot as the Noovi King looked down at the dirty full-of-marrige-proposal letters throne room floor. 'Man! This is so embarrassing!' Van sighed with relief as the King of Noovi said, "Well, so I guess my daughter surpasses all these other beautiful women am I not right?" "Oh! Ya....yes...ah....ya actually...pretty much....though...she is a little young." Van stammered nervously but still holding his head high and posture straight. "What?!Whats the business of my Sarala is young?" "I am very sorry that you had to hear that for my king is very tired, and as you can see just woke up." Brek said helpfully. "SLAVE! You have no business here! Get out!" the King of Noovi shouted, Van was really surprised for no matter how stupid Break was, he was never ever called 'slave'.

Brek backed away hurt while Van was getting vexed and tired of this arrogant-more-than-him king. "My Lord, I think it will certainly be nice if you and the princess have some rest, there will be a feast tonight to welcome you all. Now may you please excuse me..." Van trailed off and walked out of the throne room. How could they have gotten so fast to Fanalia? How long are they going to stay? These questions made Van feel uneasy and with the Noovi family around it was hard to be himself. Where the hell was Allen? Isn't he suppose to be here already?

"Hitomi, hey, lets go to practice okay?" Yukari asked the staring-blankly-into-the-sky-Hitomi. Hitomi looked down at her friend and faked a smile, "okay'. "Well, I bet Huzuko is there and can't wait to see you!" Yukari teased, but it really wasn't funny to Hitomi. "Just back off okay?! I really don't like him! He..he....." 'Why can't Yukari understand this feeling? It hurted so much! She wanted to have fun too! But then the damn king have the other half of her heart! If only she could reunited with him once again....' tears welled up in her beautiful brown eyes and she stopped walking. "I'm sorry if I said something wrong. Hitomi..." 'I really don't understand whats gotten into her, ever since her three day disappearence, is the romours actually true that she was raped then? She is acting so weird lately! I must admit to myself that she is such a pain-in-the-butt these days! Uhg!' Yukari thought to herself as she soothinly patted Hitomi on the back.

Hitomi kept on crying, "why don't anyone understand?!" Yukari was surprised by this sudden out burst. "Understand what?" "I miss him so badly! All of them! oh Van, Merel, Millerna, Allen......I miss you guys! I want to go back! WHY CAN'T I" Hitomi shouted which made Yukari jump in surprise. 'This dosen't make sense! Then are those sketches she drew in her room are all real? I thought they were just imaginary people.' "What are you talking about? Who are these people you are talking about?" Yukari asked. "Van...Van...." Hitomi whirled around all of a sudden and grabbed Yukari by the arms, "remember? Van? The dragon...the beam of light!" Hitomi looked into her bestfriends confused eyes and knew that she did not understand. She sanked to the ground and cried. "Van...I miss you so much! Van...." Everytime when she talked to Van she always had to pretend that everything was fine, but sometimes she really cannot help this feeling of longingness for the young king.

Yukari was very confused, these words, dragon...beam of light, seems to click in her mind but what was it? The boy...a boy.....the beam of light.....'What the hell am I thinking of!' Yukari dismissed these thoughts which she thought was silly, she looked at her crying friend and started to feel vexed. "So, what friend that I don't know look so much like Huzuko?" asked Yukari smiling. "Oh! that was nothing really....its Allen..." by saying that name, Hitomi went back crying. Yukari was so annoyed! "Hitomi comon just pull yourself together and for goodness sake stop it..." "YOU DON'T EVEN UNDERSTAND WHAT AM I GOING THROUGH! BACK OFF YOURSELF! I KNOW YOU ARE VEXED WITH A CRYING FRIEND THEN LEAVE ME ALONE OKAY?" as soon as Hitomi was finished yelling she knew she shouldn't have said all that hurtful words. "Yukari...I didn't mean to... Yukari I'm sorry..." Hitomi watched as her friend ran away from her....Now she was left all alone in earth and with half of her heart taken away from her.....she sank down to the ground..."Van...."

Merel looked at everyone at the dinner table, all was so silent and she could see Lord Van flinching in his seat, he was definetly nervous. The Noovi Royal family entered, Princess Sarala was looking very beautiful...well for a 10 year old girl, the Noovi King was also looking very nice even though he could have hid that big fat belly of his.... On the other hand...Van was looking great...all cleaned up...

'Hitomi! Help me get through this I beg you!!!' Van thought to himself, after all this time after the great war Hitomi became a goddess to Van, he was always praying to her. "My Lord and my Princess," Princess Sarala jumped in estasy when she heard Van address her as 'my princess', "I hope you will like the food and enjoy Fanalia's surrounding." With those words everyone sat down and started to enjoy dinner or as you can say a feast.

"This food is great! May I ask how did you make it? I have never eaten something so wonderful like this before! You are such a doll to go through so much trouble...hum hum..." Princess Sarala said all this in a trying-to-act-like a adult tone. She was trying to impress the young king which she saw was no paying off. 'Goodness! What a snobby girl and what a pain-in-the-butt!' Van thought to himself. Meanwhile Van tried to make conversation, the Noovi King was so busy stuffing a big chicken leg into himself, it didn't seem right to ask him a question so he turned his attention to Princess Sarala, "So, Princess Sarala, may I ask how come you and your father arrived at Fanalia so quickly?" "Oh! That was because I wanted to see you quickly, but we were going to visit some sites, but then I wanted to see you soooooo bad that we traveled day and night without stop. He..well...aren't you happy we arrived so early so you can spend more time with me? Huh?" Van didn't know what to say except smile, on the other hand Princess Sarala was feeling very good because the Van just asked her an 'important' question.

Van didn't eat much that night even though the cook made all his childhood favorites, he just didn't have the stomach to eat for when he saw the way the Noovi King was eating, he felt like he can vomit already (so you all can imagine how disgusting the Noovi King must look while eating right?). He was now back in his room, he walked to his balcony and stared up into the sky. Merel suddenly appeared and jumped from the roof onto the balcony with Van and joined him at looking at the stars. "Van-sama....you aren't the only one...I wish Hitomi could be back...." Van choked when he heard those loving words. Merel snuggled closer to Van and rested her head on his arms. "Me too Merel, I miss her too....." Van patted Merel head...Hitomi if only you can be here right now......
