What you can do now You have mastered all the green slopes and you
are looking at those blue slopes wondering how much harder are they anyway.
You are ready to give the easiest ones a try. What you are ready to learn now You are ready to learn how to get yet even more control turning and, you'll be learning how to match your skis parallel earlier in the turn and use less of a wedge shape with your skis. You'll learn to improve your balance over one foot at a time. This will help you to manage the steeper slopes and you'll start to feel how the edge engaging on that "downhill" ski helps hold you on the slope. You'll also improve turning your legs and feet to better control the shape of your turn. Where you are ready to ski now You are comfortable on all the greens now and are venturing onto the easiest blues. At Snowmass, this could be a variety of different runs. It will depend on the grooming from the previous day and what time of day it is. It could be Hals Hollow, Naked Lady, Slider or Bull Run for example. At Las Leñas, you'll move onto Eros Poma, first after skiing from a high traverse off of Venus. In some conditions, you might go to Vesta and then return to the village by bus, or in ideal conditions, go up Minerva. How to get there next Improving Posture is a key thing at any level |
