I'll try to keep this up to date when I can.

I'm not sure of my connection with the internet there in Las  Leņas and I may be relying on my brother, Jeff to post these for me.

I've been in touch with several friends either at Las Leņas or on their way there. I have heard reports anywhere from 1.5 meters to 50 cm groomed in the base.  Either way, it's REALLY good news for this early in the season. Guess I won't be needing my rock skis.  Truth is anything can happen. It's so early, a warm up good change this story dramatically.

I'm traveling next Wednesday to Las Leņas. I haven't heard specifics lately, but I've been looking at the weather and reports on the Las Leņas website. Only the highest sector of the mountain appears to be open, so I think they must be losing snow, probably with warm weather. My Ski School director replied to me last week and said there wasn't much snow.

It opened on the 15th or 16th.

Well I didn't have the connection I had hoped for to be able to update these reports. Hopefully, I'll do better next year or don't hesitate to email me for conditions. This winter as in Northern Hemisphere season, I am teaching in Snowmass, Colorado. See you there.
