| NeoStrata
Anti-Aging Rating: 2 out of 5 Overall Impression: Poor Review NeoStrata is a skin care line based on the use of hydroxy acids. While they do not publish an ingredients list online they do mention the concentration of the different hydroxy acids used in their formulas. What is probably most interesting about this line is that they have products that contain both hydroxy acids and sunscreen. The Essential Multi-Defense Day Crme SPF 15 is a prime example of this, as it has an 8% glycolic acid (alpha hydroxy acid content). plus an SPF 15 sunscreen. While the use of hydroxy acids in products can be very beneficial, many reviewers of this line have reported irritation and redness from these products. With such a heavy use of glycolic acid (the strongest hydroxy acid on the market) and no mention of the pH of their products (which is important because a pH below 3.0 can be very irritating) this is not surprising. Many reviewers have reported a clearing up of acne and some reviewers have reported a lessening of fine lines and age spots with this line, though this seems to be overshadowed by more frequent reports of irritation. Typical Price Range Face products are up to $60 and eye-area products are up to $30. Website www.neostrata.com Similar Lines pH Advantage, Alpha Hydrox, Glytone, Roc, Retin-A |
