| Glytone
Anti-Aging Rating: 2 out of 5 Overall Impression: Poor Review Glytone is a mid-range line that falls between Alpha Hydrox and pH Advantage with their main focus being on hydroxy acids (specifically glycolic acid). Reviewers have reported this line to be very effective against acne and fine lines. However, there have also been many reports of irritation, which may be from either too high concentration of glycolic acid (the strongesthydroxy acid) or from high concentrations of other chemicals (since this line uses very few natural extracts and has a lot of "filler" substances in the formulas). Some products also had high concentrations of detergent chemicals, like Sodium Laureth Sulfate, which have a long record as skin irritants (even on skin that is not usually sensative). One product even has a benzoyl peroxide concentration of 10%, which is about four times higher than the usual amount used in anti-acne formulas. We ultimately gave this line an anti-aging rating of 2 out of 5 because while many reviewers did see a lessening of fine lines and acne there were too many reports of irritation and adverse reaction to give it any higher score. Typical Price Range Face products are up to $50 and eye area products are up to $30. Website No official website, sold by other websites and local retailers.
