One Night In Bangkok.is as chaotic and loud as a night in Old Cairo that's for sure. Well, I never thought I would be here, but God has graced my life once again and I'm now exploring the Amazing wonders of Thailand.

A few first impressions.among all the beautiful Buddhist Temples lies a large layer of air pollution that could choke an elephant.  (and I thought Cairo was bad) Speaking of elephants, every once in awhile you can spot an elephant cruising the streets searching for tourists and veggies.
The Truth about suffering is that it exists...

Bangkok though is basically a modern over-crowded city with lots and lots of great food and hours upon hours of shopping.  Everything is pretty cheap, especially textiles, fruits, poultry, taxis, cigarettes, and of course Thai massages.  The malls in Bangkok are quite large and it takes forever to get through them. There is so much to see there its almost sensory overload.
The Royal Kingdom of Thailand, once known as Siam to those of us who remember the game of Risk, is a governed by a Constitutional Monarchy.  Thai people practice Theravada Buddhism, which is quite different from Tibetan Buddhism. Theravada doctirne emphasizes the Three Principles of Existence:  dukkha (stress) anicca (impermanence) and anatta (nonessentiality of reality)
Getting Around.Well, there are a number of ways to get around town (some more interesting than others)  As traffic-jams are one of the few constants in Bangkok, one of the fastest ways to get around town is by river.  You can also take one of these Tuk-tuk drivers, which is a lot cheaper, but you're bound to visit a few silk factories along the way.
The Tuk-tuk
Weather...right now we're in the rainy season, so it is cloudy most of the time and of course it rains quite a bit. (Probably a bit more than Mobile or Seattle)  Hot and Humid...that would seem to describe the climate here.
