JODIE A LIFE  ON SCREEN
Jodie did her first ever movie at the age of three. It was called Napoleon and Samantha. Her first ever TV apearance was for  Coppertone sunlotion advertisment. She got the part from under the nose of her brother. When the casting Director asked her name and she replied "Alexander The Great" , he was so amused he gave her the job. Wasn't that a good descision?

Now here's something to think about, what would have happened if Jodie had said "Mummy, who's this strange man?" whilst cowering behind her chubby (no offence) hands. Interesting thought eh?
Jodie turned 40 on the 19th of November 2002 and she has totalled a massive number of 34 films in her career.  This is excluding television appearances, plays, dubs and foreign films she may have done over the years.  Sounds like she's Kinda busy!

For any actress 34 films is an astonishing number, Ok Ok some of her films are not the best, in fact some are really awful but How can one really critisize a woman who has brought us Sarah Tobias and Clarice Starling!

DIRECTING

Along with acting Jodie has also directed two films including Little Man Tate and Home for the Holidays. Jodie is also reportadly about to start filming Flora Plum, another project like Home for the Holidays that she will direct but not star.

INTERESTING DIRECTING FACTS

-In Little Man Tate when Fred Tate first goes to university he walks in and looks up into the dome above. There is a very similar shot in The Accused when Sarah Tobias first walks into the courts. Maybe Jodie did this to show the similaritry between the two characters feelings of being in a new, unfamiliar and intimidating place.

- Jodie first picked up a camera and made a film at the age of 14. I am the exact same age, and coincidently itis also the first time I picked up a camera, THOUGH I'm not suggesting in any way whatsoever that I am as smart or as talented as she is!
Jodie behind the camera: An unusual  but comfortable role for her, after all she has been in front of it for 37 years!
Jodie Foster also had her own production company called egg pictures, however she closed it down after the birth of her second son. Some films she has produced include Nell and Dangerous Lives of Altar Boys.
