| Born: 19th November 1962 Birth Place: Los Angeles, Calafornia Name at Birth: Alicia Christian Foster Jodie Foster started her career at the tiny age of three. She worked in a small commercial for coppertone sun lotion, and for anyone who's seen any pictures she hasn't half changed! Her next appearance was on a television series called 'Maybery R.F.D', that was in 1968. When she was younger she also did many other adverts including MacDonalds, Oreo Biscuits, Iron Tablets and toothpaste. In 1975 after working With Martin Sworsese on "Alice doesn't live here anymore', Jodie was offered a part in the film Taxi Driver (1976). Her mum thought he was crazy at offering her 12 year old daughter the part of a drug addicted protitute, but after 4 hours with a phyciatrist she was given the part. Jodie hated wearing the outfits on set, she wasn't used to wearing heels and haulterneck tops, at one point she was on the brink of tears - being a tomboy - she had never worn these types of clothes before. For playing the role or 'Easy' or 'Iris' she was nominated for an Acadamy Award, for Best Supporting Actress. |

| In 1980 she graduated best from her class from Lycee Francais. Jodie then went on to study English Literature at Yale University. She graduated Magna cum Laude in 1985. Even though she has never had a single acting lesson in her life, Jodie Foster was the first actress ever, to have won two Oscars before the age of 30. She won her first Oscar for her portrayal of Sarah Tobias in The Accused (1988). Her next Oscar was her performance as Clarice Starling in The Silence of the Lambs. Jodie is famous for many things, but somthing she is also famous for (apart from her film career) is her privacy. She has never written an autobiography, but there have been several Biography including a 'Tell-All' written by her estranged brother Buddy.
