UPDATE  4-5-05

Today is the third anniversary of Dave's passing. I still find myself thinking about him a lot. Earlier this year, I closed down my Spring Heeled Jack website, that this site originally spun out of. For those that didn't know him personally, this is one of the last connections that they still have to Dave. I didn't want to sever that and as a result, this site will remain up, for as long as I can maintain it. So, that being said, keep Dave, his family, his friends & his fans, in your thoughts today.

I still encourage you to send any thoughts or memories you have about him, to me for posting on the condolence pages. E-mail those to
evilsicksix6@yahoo.com.

David A. Karcich

March 8, 1974 - April 5, 2002
On April 5th, 2002, the world lost an amazing human being in David A. Karcich. Dave was struck with a brain aneurysm on April 2nd. He remained in a coma until his peaceful passing on the morning of the 5th.

Everything happened so quickly, it's hard to accept the fact that he's gone. In a brief moment, the lives of everybody that Dave's touched, turned completely around. So many people never got to say good-bye.

In the days that followed, I kept people informed through my site,
Static From Suburbia. I also set up an e-mail account, for people to send condolences to Dave's other friends and, most importantly, his family. The response was astounding. Within a few days, the site's average monthly views had already doubled and the condolences came in quicker than I could collect them. In collecting them, of course I had to read through them to make sure that all of the messages were acceptable and nothing hurtful was said by the uncaring, anonymous few on the internet. I'm proud to say that every message was sincere with not a single offensive thing said. Some of these messages were simple good-byes while others were personal messages from other friends, that brought me to tears. They all showed me how much Dave and his music touched so many people.

I knew immediately that these memories of Dave needed a place on the site. The only problem was, that as a Geocities site, there's only so many hits I can receive in a day before they temporarily shut the site down for a while. The hits were already astronomical for this little freebie website. Plus, Dave's memory deserves much more than just another page on an existing website. This new site is the answer. This site will be a constant celebration of Dave. The condolences, you all sent, will be posted along with stories, pictures, etc....  I want everybody that cared about Dave, to be a part of this. Family, friends, all of his former bandmates, other bands, and, of course, the fans. It's the sad truth that none of us can ever see Dave again. The amazing part is that none of us are ever going to let him be forgotten.

Thank you,
JOHN
