Condolences
To Daves Family and Friends-
I didnt know Dave personally. You probably wont get a lot of letters from people who did. But the point is this- We all feel for you. Take comfort in the memories that you have, as they will always make you smile.

Safe journey, Dave.

Hello, my name is Tim Benson. This February I got an assignment to interview H2O for the UCF school paper. It was my first interview with anyone even remotely famous. I got there early, before soundcheck, and basically was a fly on the wall, too nervous to go up to anyone and start talking. The opening bands were still bringing in their gear. As I sat there writing in my notebook, Dave came up to me and started a conversation. He introduced myself and told me all about how this was Avoid One Things 2nd ever show and how excited he was, etc., etc. We sat there and shot the shit for about a half an hour about various things like bands we liked, life on the road, things like that. He introduced me to Gittleman and some of the other guys in Bigwig and H2O. He was basically the ice breaker. But beyond that he was a super nice guy and a really genuine human being and I am truly saddened by his passing, which, unfortunately, I only found out about today and hit me like a ton of bricks. So, my deeply heartfelt condolences to his family, and my thanks always to Dave, for taking me under his wing and getting my foot in the door in rock journalism.

He was a really great guy, a great drummer, and a super great guy to his everloving fans. I must say he was my favorite of the group, spring heeled jack. For one main reason, it was the first time i ever got to see my all time favorite ska band spring heeled jack in concert. I must say they had put on a great show but that was the best part. I was watching dance hall crashers play in the back and dave was right next to me. I said hey arent you dave can you sign my poster?? and of course he was the coolest and said of course.. i was so stoked that i got to talk to him and he was so cool that he took me around to all the other SHJ band members to sign my poster.

I got to chat with all the guys and even hang out after the show for a bit. It was one of the most memorable and favorite moments of my life and i will never forget it. And it was all because of the coolest guy that ever lived. I just lost my dad last end of july so i know what his family is going through.(im only 21) but Dave will be in my prayers alongside my father. HE will be taken good care of.

Even though I only met you twice with Lori, I knew you were destined for greatness. Now, I know you are the greatest superstar in all the world as you jam up in heaven. As I told you when we first met in my house, you reminded me so very much of my son, Harrison. Your beautiful looks, your quirky sense of humor, your sensitivity; so much like him.
You will stay this way forever and your aura will be all around those who continue to love and remember you with all their hearts each and every day.

With deep affection,
Adrienne

Wow I just got the bad new that Dave passed away...Im really sad about it...and all my thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends...know that his music is loved here in Brazil and that he wont be forgotten!

Peace to everyone...best wishes,
Adriano - Brazilian Fan

Im writing to you today as someone who grew up listening to all of the bands that Dave played in....I cant even begin to express how much their collective music has meant to me. It is so frightening that someone so young and full of life can just be killed by something so undetectable. I hope you can take some comfort in knowing how many lives he has touched just by doing what he loved to do.
