Sunfish

There are two main species of sunfish in the Lake, namely bluegill and pumpkinseed. The most common species caught is the bluegill and is always the first fish caught by kids when they begin to learn fishing. Size is relatively small and the average is 3-4 inches. Over 8 inches may be a record of the park.

Sunfish eats everything you throw in the water, maize corn, bread, flies, worms or fake baits. It's an easy target for beginners. Small ones come in schools of the same kind in shallow waters where larger one stay alone in the deeper water. It's also an easy meal for cormorants and egrets too.
