| The Pond |

| Located at the southeastern corner of the park from 59th Street to 65th Street, between 5th and 6th Avenue. The pond was reconstructed since summer 2000 and reopened in early spring 2002. The pond was dredged of decades of silt, as many as 10,000 fish and 30 turtles were relocated to other water bodies. Flowering plants replanted and lawn seeded which added color to this picturesque area. |
