After the death of my mother, our family went through the old cardboard boxes to sort out the important papers from the junk. We found papers where the United States of America was trying to gain title to land that was once own by
Celia Abbygail Jordan, because she never married or had children they paid her heirs "just compensation". Later we found where Grandma Lee had started writing about her and my fathers families (sure wish I had listened to her stories earlier in life, because most are lost forever now). So began our journey into the family histories of the Jordan's of Hardin Co. Texas, the Andress' of Polk Co. Texas, the Scroggins' of Navarro Co. Texas, and the Bryant's of Navarro Co. Texas.�
