The Scoggin soon became Scoggins.. seing how everyone spelled it that way.. My dad even oput Scoggins on the mailbox. .. Dad is Alvin Scoggin.. His dad William Scoggins. (Bradford Arkansas) His Father was a Doctor. also a William Scoggins.. He married a Virgie Stinett. William died at 36. during the depression.. and later Virgie married Walter Terry. Virgie and William Scoggin had 3 children. Alvin Arnold. Elmer. and Lucielle.......

Very interesting.. I was amased at the number of Scoggins from Texas when I moved here. I am from Il with family coming from Ky and have heard a story about the "r" being dropped from our name because of confusion with the mailman delivering the wrong mai .
