Their initial taste of defeat from juniors didn't prevent the yellow shirted sophomore spikers from stealing the volleyball crown.

Playing hard labor against the juniors on the third day of the Intramurals, the Sophies rained spikes and fast volleys on the hapless blue shirts, 25-21, 25-19.

Paul Sobrevega rebounded from his bad luck and converted his spikes to points to the shock of the third year who lost their offensives, despite the one-time booming attack of third year's Danel Beriong.

The sophies team compensated their wild balls with sure ball return which caught the third year boys unaware. The response was almost always late.

Meanwhile, the seniors have successfully defended the tradition of keeping the overall championship crown after amassing a total of 295 points. They dominated the basketball (B & G), volleyball (G) and the track and field events.

The juniors, after collecting 269 points, bowed to the second year who tallied 275 points.

The freshman, who showed brilliance in the pool, settled for the fourth place.
