 First a question:
Question: Can to figure out the Algebraic Equation show by these shapes?
Don't Look below!

Answer: The Pythagorean Theorem
(a2 + b2 = c2)

The longest side of the dark blue Right Triangle, is equal to the square of the other two sides.
A Right Triangle has one corner angle that is 90 degrees, like the letter L.
The longest side is called the 'hypotenuse', it is the side next to the light blue square
The red square's sides are exactly equal to length of the bottom side of the triangle (a2).
The green square's sides are exactly equal to length of the left side of the triangle (b2).
Therefore: The light blue square's sides must equal the sum of the other two square sides.
So the longest side, or 'hypotenuse', of the triangle is equal to (c2).
