Weathering and Erosion

To know the effects of weathering by expansion and contraction and by the freezing of water.

Discuss the causes of weathering and erosion. Demonstrate weathering by putting a filled bottle of water in a plastic bag in the freezer over night. Demonstrate erosion by running water down a tray half filled with sand. Look at some samples of sedimentary rock and discuss how they might be formed from eroded rock.
