The front cover of this hardcover edition looks almost exactly like the softcover edition. The inside endpapers are watermarked with "Especially for Girls" and a printed on "book plate" that says: "This book belongs to" with a space for writing in your name. The inside title page says "Especially for Girls Presents" before the title. The publishing information states: "This book is a presentation of Especially for Girls, Newfield Publications, Inc." and: "Published by arrangement with Collier Books, Simon & Schuster Children's Publishing Division."

The inside content is identical to the softcover edition. The back cover looks similar to the softcover edition, but there are a few differences. The softcover edition has the address for Collier books, a UPC symbol, and ISBN number. The hardcover edition has the "Especially for Girls" book club logo and the words: "Suggested retail price $13.00."

The hardcover edition is a little more rare than the softcover edition, but not impossible to find. I have seen several for auction at Ebay, on Yahoo Auctions, and also online at used bookstores.

One interesting note about this book: The book synopsis from the back of the book has an error! It says: "Zack dares Mario to spend a night alone at Bayside High..." I think they meant Slater! Both the hardcover and softcover editions that I own have this same error.

Another interesting note: I recently saw one of these books on auction at Ebay, but this particular one was put together "inside out and upside down." If you opened the book jacket, the book inside was upside down and backwards! I think I'd like that one for the novelty of it.
