Deoban

High above Chakrata above the Army training area is Deaoban (at an altitude of about 9,400 feet). Here the deep Deodar Forests are interspersed with beautiful meadows filled with wild flowers.

The old British-built Forest Rest House is a prefect getaway from anywhere.

The Deodar trees around the rest house are some of the tallest in Asia.

On your way back to Chakrata don't forget to check out the botanical garden run by the State Govt., it was a good collection of Himalayan wild flowers. (Also a great place to watch butterflies)
