A walk to Chilmiri Neck (to the south of the town) is a great way to understand and appreciate the beauty of the surrounding landscape. Also take a stroll along any of the many the village (walking) tracks springing along the main road to find more birds/butterflies/flowers.

Chakrata

The entry to Chakrata is controlled by a system of gates run by the army. Don't forget to check on the timings.

Once there the best way to explore Chakrata is on foot. There are many great views from different parts of the town. However, I would advice a walk on the outskirts of this quaint cantonment. Since most of the buildings surrounding Chakrata are owned by the army, so don't forget to check before you click sometime.
