Check my blog, for my latest trip photos/reports/sightings - http://sahilonline.blogspot.com/

June 2005

The flowing streams leading to and from to the 312 ft high Tiger falls, is an ideal location to sight some great Dragon and Damsel flies.

(The names of the species as per the nos. on the plate below)

01 - Rhinocypha unimaculata (male)

02 - Rhinocypha trifasciata (male, looks like freshly emerged one)

03 - Euphaea ochracea (male)

04 - Euphaea ochracea (freshly emerged, so the colour has not developed properly)

These have been identified by Mr.K.A.Subramanian
(LAB#23, National Centre for Biological Sciences, GKVK, Bellary Road, Bangalore-560 065)
