A VISIT TO NEWSTEAD FARM
Autumn finds mares and foals at Tamworth
Gently rolling fields nourish and sustain the rare black Morgan horses of Glick's Morgans and the Herford cattle of Newstead Farm. Newstead, founded circa 1740, bordered by the James River and contiguous to the quaint village of Cartersville, Virginia, is home to Glick's Morgans and Bill and Carol Wright.
Nearly twenty five years ago, Ice Storm ignited the spark that has grown to be Glick's Morgans.Carrying more than thirty crosses to the famous trotter, Ethan Allen 50, Ice Storm is 50percent Lippitt/35percent Jubilee King. More than thirty fine get are a credit to this superior stallion. Among them are Glick's June Twilight and Glick's Night Wind, a homozygous black pair of mares foaled, trained and shown by the Wrights. |
Pleasant days cultivating close communication with the mares, foals and stallions of Newstead metamorphous and become the substance of life. |
