LIVE COVER BREEDING CONTRACT

Booking and Service Fee

The non-refundable booking fee is $150.00 and applies toward the service fee.  The service fee is $1,000.00. A $100.00 discount applies when the booking fee is received before April first. One half the service fee to be paid when the mare arrives and the balance to be paid before the mare leaves Newstead Farm.

The mare owner agrees that:

Upon arrival, the mare will (a) be halter broken, (b) have the hind shoes removed, and (c) be accompanied by a negative coggins.  Stallion owner will not be responsible for accident, disease, or death to the mare, or to her foal (if she has a foal).

Board

Mare owner will pay the following board on his mare:  30 days board in advance and monthly thereafter.  Feed and facilities $7.50/day; with foal $10.00/day.  Supplemental grain to be billed at cost.

Should the mare prove barren, or should the foal die at birth, mare owner will send notice of same, signed by a licensed veterinarian, within 5 (five) days of such barren determination or death.

This contract shall not be assigned or transferred.  In the event the mare is sold no refund shall be due anyone under any circumstance.

The stallion owner agrees that:

He will provide suitable facilities for the mare and feed and care for her in a good and husband like manner.

Mare owner will not be responsible for any disease, accident, or injury to stallion owner's horses.

Live Foal Guarantee

Should the above mare prove to be barren, abort, or should the foal be unable to stand and nurse, with a certificate, signed by a licensed veterinarian so stating, supplied to the stallion owner within five (5) days of the foals death or such determination, the stallion owner has the option to:

       A.  Re-breed the mare the following season under the same terms of this contract.

       B.  Accept a substitute mare under the same terms of this contract.
