Jason
Behr was born in Minneapolis Minnesota, December 30, 1973. He migrated all
over, while he was very young, living anywhere from Arizona to Califonia.
After his parents split he returned to Richfield, near Minnesota with his
mother and three brothers.
Jason
attended high school and after graduating he made a bold move and decided to
pursue a career in the acting world, by moving to Hollywood. Perhaps one of
Jason's strengths was his persistance and passion that propelled him from the
very beginning. He attended many auditons and TV roles in "Profiler"
(1996), "Cracker" (1997), "Push" (1998) and guest starred
on "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Dawson's Creek"
as the bad-boy "Chris Wolfe".
All
of Behr's hard work paid off when he was cast as the lead in fresh
sci-fi drama "Roswell". Jason plays "Max Evans" a
tortured, brooding romantic who bears the weight of two worlds on his
shoulders - he's an alien. "Max" and 3 others were left on Earth as
the only survivors of the famed "Roswell Incident" of 1947 in
Roswell, New Mexico. After breaking free of incubation pods decades later, Max
enters into a world of danger where he learns to keep his origins secret.
Jason's moving portrayal of "Max" instantly captured fans'
hearts. He gives the character dimension and is magical to watch. Many fans
have said that is in fact the amazing chemistry seen between Jason and his
costar Shiri Appleby that initially attracted them to the show. Since then
Jason Behr has shone even more in his solo performances as well as working
with the ensemble cast.
Jason
has chosen film roles very carefully. This is part of the Behr charm. Instead
of falling to the allure of pop-movie culture he has decided to
take it slow and wait for the excellent scripts to come along. While he has
off-time from "Roswell" he enjoys sports and spending quality time
with his friends, his Akita and his girlfriend and costar Katherine Heigl.
Jason's past film projects include "Rites of Passage" (1999) and
"The Shipping News" (2001).
