Hello and welcome to Newsletter #3. We now have over seventy people on our mailing list. Thank you to everyone that has subscribed. If you know of anyone else interested in receiving the newsletter, please have them contact us.
Mary Beth was quite busy over the summer. She attended the GH luncheon on July 19th. She also attended the Lakeside Association anniversary party that evening. The Lakeside Association anniversary party was quite a success. They also donated a portion of the ticket price to the Aliso Academy for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. If there is anything about either gathering that you would like to share with others, please send it to us and we will put it in the next newsletter. I'm sure people would like to know about your experiences meeting Mary Beth and Stephen (whether it was the first time or not).
I know a lot of you were interested in Mary Beth and her mini-triathlon. Mary Beth completed her triathlon in under two hours. The triathlon included a half-mile ocean swim followed by a 12-mile bike ride and a 3-mile run. She said the scariest thing was the ocean swim. Although she had been practicing laps in an Olympic pool, it did not prepare her for the ocean . . . especially when there were hundreds of people thrashing around. Also, when you get out of the ocean you have to run across the sand toward your bicycle and then put your feet in your bike shoes. Gritty! Next time she'll do like the veterans and have someone there with a bucket of water to rinse the sand off. Mary Beth said it was quite a learning experience and I don't believe that she has ruled out doing it again!
What do you think of the Katherine's (and Mary Beth's) new look? I think she looks absolutely fantastic. One of the weekly soap magazines noticed how great she looks as well. They wrote "GH's Mary Beth Evans. Where do we sign up? Her extended summer vacation left her looking extremely rested and more beautiful than ever upon her character's return from the dead." I would say I have to agree.
I know that Mary Beth is glad to be back in full force at GH and I hope you are all enjoying her as well.
We had many people comment that they enjoyed having us a put a recipe in the newsletter so that will now be a regular feature in the newsletter. Also, the Aliso Academy will be putting together a cookbook as a fund-raiser for the school. We will let you know when they become available and the cost.
