The Knighthood of IronWood

The institution of Knighthood in IronWood was established in year of our Lord 1992 with the induction of a handful of knights who were dubbed by His Royal Highness, Prince William "the Wise". From then on the knights of IronWood pledged themselves to excellence in service to the King Jesus Christ and His people.

Philosophy of the Knighthood
The Knighthood was created for those who desire to engaged in (authentic and safe as possible) tournament battles of the Middle Ages. The Knighthood also seeks to instill the virtues of chivalry, camaraderie, and courteous behavior in all of its members. The Knighthood consists of four ranks Pages, (which are beginners) Squires, (which are novices) Knight Bachelors, (which are senior classmen) and finally Knight Bannerets (which are the masters of the knighthood). The last two classes earn certain privileges and rights along with their titles. The titles Knight Bachelor and Banneret are granted by the Head of State.

The Knight's Marshal of Earldom of IronWood is Viscount Sir Tristan Twice-born. He was appointed by His Excellency Earl Sir Hamish Lord MacKay.

Convections for an ROC Tournament
A Format for Tournament Practice

The tournament practice involves practice and instruction in the martial skills. All practices should begin with prayer and conclude with a devotion. Often it is wise to focus the practice on one particular event such as archery or javelin throwing. By doing this, instructions can be given to the group and then practice can commence. A little friendly competition helps to generate excitement and enthusiasm.
