Ronald's Bloodbowl Tool
I have been writing an application that helps you when playing Bloodbowl. This tool isn't any good for online-play,
but you can use it if you play Bloodbowl by e-mail (like in the
PBEMBBL) or if you want to play but don't feel like setting up the board. Or you can use it if you just want
to play with yourself.... err... well, if you want to play both teams ;-)
NOTE: We're giving the tool its own website. Go to http://www.pbembb.com for the latest version. In time, THIS website (http://www.geocities.com/rlokers) will be removed.
Latest version: 2.1, released 6 apr 2002.
Click here to see the version history.

Already Bloodbowl fans visited this web-site!
Alas I didn't spend any time yet to update this website so it still refers to the
old version 1.6c but I'm pretty sure that this will give you enough information to work with the 2.1 version.
In case you want to see all the changes from 1.6c to 2.1, check out the beta-page
which tells you the entire history of 2.1. I hope that someday I can put my mind to completely updating
the website....
For the new 2.1 version the most important changes are:
- settings for the game are stored within the game file. No need to change the ini file when you play a game in another league.
- now you can use player pictures. See the txt file in the zip with 2.1
- when you move the cursor over the team the team stats are shown
- Various bug fixes and improved handling of certain skills and traits
What can you do with the tool?
I think the tool is quite easy to use. But here is an extensive explanation of all posibilities, just to make
sure you can use it to the fullest.
This is what the tool looks like:
Menu and Toolbar
As you can see there is a MENU but you can access almost all menu choices more easily by using the Toolbar.
If there's a button in the toolbar for a certain option, it will be shown at the explanation of the menu option.
Click on the menu options for an extensive explanation of the options in that menu.

Cards | Post-game | Special Rolls |
Special Actions | Log |
Star Player Points | Help
Turn, Score and Reroll markers
Click on a TURN marker to start a new turn. All players that have ended their move
(see Player Options)
will be returned to standing, and all numbers on the field will be cleared. Turns that have already been made, are shown
in smaller numbers. To return them all to large (at the start of the second half) just click on
'Start Half' (see Special Actions menu for further details).
Left-click on a SCORE marker to add 1, right-click to subtract 1.
To keep track of Casualties Scored, it's the same thing: left-click to add 1, right-click to
subtract 1. These are the smaller numbers next to the Score markers.
Same for the RE-ROLLS markers: left-click to add 1, right-click to subtract 1.
The small numbers next to the re-roll counters can be used to keep track of leader re-rolls.
Field
For all details about the field, read the Field Options.
Ball
Once the ball is placed on the field (see the Field Options), you can drag it to another square.
You can also drag it to a player on the field. That player will then carry the ball.
Players
The players are shown as the red and blue squares. For all details, read the Player Options.
Apothecary and Wizard
If your team has an Apothecary or a Wizard, a box will be shown next to the Reserves box to reflect this. Click on
this box to turn it to gray to indicate the Apothecary or Wizard has been used.
Comment Field
All details about the Comment Field can be read in the Comment Field Options.
Dice Roll buttons
The buttons that roll dice are pretty self-explanatory, I think...
Action Box
The green box at the bottom shows the last action taken.
Setting the defaults
With the tool you'll find a number of *.ini files that can be changed to reflect your likings or the rules of your
league. The most important one is called pbembb.ini. Here you can set your own defaults that the program uses.
The bbtables.ini file lets you use the Handicap and Match Winnings Tables of your liking. The bbcards.ini
file lets you use your own cards.
How do I get the tool?
Easy! Just download it here!
You can also download this manual.
You can find bitmaps for the field here
I hope you enjoy the tool. I would really appreciate it if you send me a message to tell me how you like it.
Also all bugs and wish-lists can be sent to me at [email protected].
Play by e-mail
If you're playing Bloodbowl by e-mail, like in the PBEMBBL, you can
find detailed instructions here how to use this Tool with that.
