Ronald's Bloodbowl Tool

The FILE menu

The FILE menu has the following options:

New Game

Select this option if you want to start a new game (DUH!). The field is reset and the log is cleared. The teams are still there, but if you want to save the game later you better load them first or they will be lost the next time you load the game.

Load Game and Save Game

While you are playing a log is kept. You can save this log using the 'Save Game' option. Later you can load the game and you can continue your game. If you play by e-mail just play your turn, save the game, and send the file (*.bbm) to your opponent. He can load the game and continue play where you left off.
Preferably you should first zip the *.bbm file because some mail-programs will include the file in the message instead of treating it like an attachment.

Exit

Well, what's there to say about this? It exits the program!

Encryption of the bbm file

If you are playing by e-mail you might wonder if your opponent is playing the game as he should play it, meaning: not secretly rerolling the bad rolls that came up. You're not there to look over his shoulder so you might worry about that.

Therefor I have built into the program some extra functionality that makes it possible for me to check if someone did something that is not completely according to the rules. I'm not telling you how, because it's not so hard to avoid the tool's checks if you know what it looks for. Even more, the tool now encrypts the bbm file when you save a game. Nothing too fancy, and I'm sure you can crack the code easily enough, but it's a start to keep players from cheating.

If you suspect your opponent is cheating, send me the bbm file and I'll check it for you.

Whatever you do DON'T edit the file yourself! If you even only open and save the bbm file using an editor, the file will be corrupted and the tool will give a lot of 'Range Check Error's when you will try to load it!
