Water's Worst Enemy

Our affection is like a prison

I in one cell; you in the next

The ocean, like a wall between us, has become my worst enemy

All night I curse it, all day I cry out against our separation

In the distance I hear your voice

Sweet, soft, it brings solace to my heart

Soothes my madness momentarily

A smile comes to my face

I visualize your hands, your eyes

I can taste your lips on mine

It seems so real I swear youre here

Then I open up my eyes

And I curse the wall again.
