The Raiders were out in full force tonight, but it still took three rounds
to get 2 points on the board in the first game. Thanks Bot! He gave us
Phish songs, a champ round and famous bowlers to get things off to a very
slow start. Once things got rolling the Raiders kept the lead til the end
with a 34 - 14 victory.
The second game made up for time lost in the first. A double point bicycle
parts cat put the raiders ahead 24 - 8 in the third round. From there we
coasted through comic strips and Animaniacs to a 32 - 17 victory.
Great playing, Raiders!

Give FOURplay a loss for this game. We
started off with 9 players ended up with 4. The lag was so bad, I
have no idea of the scores & personally dont care. |

These games were certainly the craziest games I have played in a long,
long time! Almost every player on both teams had severe lag (some more
than others: TEX!), and both teams had their share of getting booted alot
(some more than others: Butterbby!). I myself had awful lag and my screen
was doing the infamous stop and start dance. To say these games were
frustrating is an understatement! However...no matter how you look
at it, we Rats came out victorious.
Game 1 was pretty status quo with both of the teams experiencing lag and
the boot monster, although I think the rats were having a harder time of
it in this game. Game
2 was a little kinder to us rats but merciless to fourplay. Their
players were leaving the room in droves. A few of us rats managed to score
with all of this going on and took the 2nd game big time, sweeping the
last category of Jeff Goldblum movies. Game 3 presented us all with
another lesson in patience with players flying in and out of the room, and
barely having a chance to type in a timely answer with all the lag. A
couple of our players managed to hold on tight though and we bagged game 3
with a big ending of anniversary gifts. A big WTG to all players on
both teams for hanging in there...and a special "persistance"
award to Butterbby for her diligence in trying to stay in the tourney
room!

YaY!! We won but it wasn't easy! Good game lolers!!
I got worried in the second game. We thought it would be an easy win but
nooooo...we were humbled by the excellent rid-abilities of the LoLers. As
the answers were read at the end of the round I closed my eyes and hoped..
and hoped... and we won!! :)

Bot really jipped us in this one! On the Mariah Carey cat,
lightdancer and I both said an answer we didn't get credit for.
Fortunately, according to my notes, that happened during the first game,
not the second one as I had thought. Had it been the second game, it
would have been the difference between losing and tying it up!
The first game, we started off trailing, but as more LOLers started to
show up, we found ourselves staging a fast comeback! Six Packers did
a great job retaining their lead. Kitten cleaned the spiders out of
the room and scored 3 points for us on the Spiders cat, making the score
24-25 Sixers ahead. But they went on to win it 30-28 on the Seinfeld
cat.
In the second game, Six-Pack took an early lead on men's clothing with a
great deal of help from Lily (surprise surprise LOL) taking off 6-2.
After figure skating moves, Stephen Sondheim and the ____Book cat, we were
behind 9-21. But just then, on the types of Watches cat, the LOLers
made a remarkable sweep, coming back 16-24! Andie McDowell helped us
to close the gap to 20-25, then things associated with Toronto brought us
to a dangerously close final round, 27-26 Sixers barely ahead.
Unfortunately, we could not take the game as the final round was Men's B
Names, and an EQUALITY one at that. Sixers won 31-30.
Talkcity was on a big lag run tonight. The Lizards game was
postponed altogether because of it! People were getting response
times of up to two minutes...ACK! Let's hope they get their
respective stuff together and soon!
