The raiders were behind from the first round with a double point category
("c" words), and the rats never looked back. Nothing went
the raiders' way in the 2nd game, with the rats leading from the get go.

The second game began with a tie, 4-4, in "black things" and the
game stayed very close until the final cat, "Books of the New

The LOL proved to be my nemesis (had to throw in an Asimov title!) once
again, beating us in two close games. Even with the help of
lightdancer (who shared her knowledge of Gwyneth Paltrow with the Rocks),
we could not put out 7's flame....we may have hope (and sometimes even
light) but they had the win!!!
Congrats seven....and Y, you better start scheduling some practices!

The first round we jammed 14 points on three letter c's. The last
round we swept all 10 army ranks. In between the raiders pecked, the
rats slobbered and in the end, we WON!

(Commentary)
The LOLers had an obvious renewed sense of spirit with the return of our
captain, MusicLuvr! Congratulations on your recovery, Music
this win was just 4u!
The first round was a heart-pounding double pointer, "words that
start with RAM". A lot of people got booted, and the Rockers
took an early lead, 10-6. LOLers were quick to tie it up on Doors
songs, 13-13, and then we pulled off a lead 19-17 on Monopoly Properties.
Isaac Asimov came next, and the Rockers closed the gap a bit, 23-22.
Then, the Djibouti spirit shined over on the cities of Brazil as the
Rockers slammed us to take the lead 29-24! It was incredible, but
just then a cat that I, for one have yet to see, Gwenyth Paltrow movies,
came up. Much to my surprise, the LOLers were more knowledgeable
about their entertainment than I had thought, as we swept the cat!!!
Only one little quirk, though..somehow lightdancer wound up on the Rockers
team and scored two points for them, tying the game at 31-31!!! When
things in a bedroom came up next, we LOLers fought with all our spirits
and grabbed the win 36-34!
The second game found the Rockers timing another early lead on types of
watches, 6-4. They maintained their lead on wallet stuff (9-11), but
the LOLers took advantage of the ensuing double pointer, Hotels, to take
the lead 21-17. After some time to sit on our thoughtful spot, we
jumped on the Winnie the Pooh cat and blustered into the danger zone at
26-21. The final cat, things on wheels, to which my first impulse
was to answer "hubcaps" for some reason, gave us the room to
cruise our way to a 31-25 win!!!
Great game Rockers!!! How is it we can beat them and no one else?
Inquiring minds want to know...oh, and another bit of interesting info
we had 7 MVP votes for 7 different people! So we just agreed on a
Team MVP.

(Commentary)
FourPlay took an 5 point lead in our first cat - Elvis movies. They
kept increasing their lead and we were never able to catch up. We
had some good cats: QU words, John Denver Songs TV & Movie Dogs
and Capitals of Asian & Middle Eastern Countries. Final Score:
30 - 11.
The Wonders had hope in the 2nd game and were only a few points behind
after the first cat, Things associated with the Friends TV Show.
FourPlay increased their lead over the next few cats - John Cusak Movies,
Tom Cruise Movies, Foods with Nuts, Horror movies. They won the game
with the final round - a double point round - Muscle Groups. Final
Score: 38 - 18.
We wiggled, we played and we typed our fingers to the bones, but
unfortunately it wasn't enough. Maybe next time Wonders! After
all, if the NY METS can make a comeback, so can we!!
